Season Ends With a Loss

10/28/2013

By the end of the first half it was New Hanover 4 Ashley 0. The Hanover coach decided to have mercy on us by leaving most of his starters out in the second half (I knew he had to be a good guy because of his choice in a wife) but they were still able to add two more goals (one with 6 seconds left in the game). Espin Jennings-Gilbert was able to get us on the board. I guess the Wildcats affectionately know as the feral house cats paid us back by winning the conference championship on our field this year as we did on their field last year.
It was a sad night not only for the result but also because it was the last high school soccer match for 6 seniors: Cameron Cairney, Tony Mack, Dean Morton, Parker Rackley, Scott Truong, and Phillip Wilcoxon. You will all be missed!
On a positive note the junior varsity team beat New Hanover by a score of 2 to 1 bring their final record to 9 wins and 7 losses. Coach Vithalani has a winning season for his inaugural season.
Thank you to all who came out and supported us this season.
