Senior, Felecity Havens Has a Big Night

In Monday night's girls basketball first-round playoff win over Clayton, it was Chyna Cotton taking over the scoring load for Ashley. In Wednesday night's second round, Felecity Havens took the reins, finishing with 30 points.

Havens' frequent trips into the lane, coupled with an active Screaming Eagles defense, produced a 47-39 win over visiting Fayetteville Jack Britt.

For Friday night's third round of state 4A playoffs, the task will carry a higher degree of difficulty, on a trip to Raleigh to face Millbrook, the No. 1 seed.

"She's the type of player that doesn't want her season to end," Ashley coach Adrienne Gale said of Havens. "She's going to try to do whatever she can to help her team win, on both ends of the court."

Cotton was again a force on the boards for Ashley, with a game-high 13 rebounds.
