Eagles Suffer their Second Loss in MEAC Baseball

The Eagles baseball team headed down to Shallotte today for a matchup with West Brunswick.  The Trojans ended up beating Ashley 4-3 on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh.  The Trojans scored first, going up by a score of 2-0.  Ashley battled back, scoring two runs on a Donovan Francis walk, sac bunts by Evan Laverick and Cole Slocum, and an RBI single by Kameron Johnson.  West then scored again off starter Cully Crott to take a 3-2 lead.  In the 6th inning, Dakota Perryman led off with a double to left, followed by a single by Cully to tie the game.  The Trojans then led off the bottom of the 7th with a walk, the next hitter sacrificed the runner to 2nd, who then scored on a wild throw.  Slocum, Johnson, Shane Shepard, Perryman, and Crott all had hits for Ashley.  Our record is now 7-3, 3-2 in the Mideastern.  Ashley is back on the diamond today, 4/2 for a home date with Reagan High School.  First pitch is 6 PM.
