Trojans Rally to Defeat the Eagles in Softball

After a long emotional win against Laney Monday the team traveled to West Brunswick (another very good softball team) last night. The scoring started in the top of the 3rd with Lauren Brooks reaching on a 1 hit base hit and scoring on a Jordan Floyd double. That is about the point in time when we became started to loose focus a little with two on and 1 out we were picked off of third for the 2nd out and then struck out on 3 pitches to finish our own threat. The bottom of the 3rd was more of the same with 3 errors in the first 4 hitters to give up 2 runs and go down 2-1. In the 4th we allowed some balls to fall in for base hits that we should not have and gave up 2 more runs to go down 4-2. Jordan reached on a 2 out error in the 5th and scored after a Taylor Carter single and Schae Dickson double, but we popped up to short with the tying run at 2nd to end the inning.  We had the tying run on base again in the 6th but watched 4 of 6 strikes after that to strike out twice and end the inning. Robyn Kerr took the lose and Sarah Horrell pitched the last 2 innings. Bailey Williams and Jordan Smith were 2 for 3 each. The varsity only travels to South Brunswick Friday
